Water Quality Recommendations to Protect and Restore North Carolina's Coastal Habitats

The North Carolina Coastal Habitat Coalition convened a stakeholder group to recommend voluntary water quality actions to protect and restore North Carolina's coastal habitats through the 2021 North Carolina Coastal Habitat Protection Plan update. The group reached consensus on a series of scientific findings, conclusions stemming from these findings, and actions the state and stakeholders should take to improve water quality in the next five years.

About the stakeholder workgroup

The North Carolina Coastal Habitat Coalition had an opportunity to convene a group of stakeholders in the summer of 2021 to learn from scientists the connection between clean water and productive fishery habitats. The group produced a document below that was submitted to the North Carolina Coastal Habitat Protection Plan Steering Committee in August of 2021.
